Peterhead away
2010 April 24
Not only is this game essential to keep pressure on Stirling Albion - its also vital to recoup momentum in case of the dreaded play-offs.

In the last 2 weeks, despite losing both games, we showed in patches the form that got us here. We need to keep pressing to the last - after all - if we can slip up against Brechin and Dumbarton - the Binos might fail against the teams 3rd and 4th in the division!

Your thoughts?

The players will obviously all be up for this one. I actually think playing away from home will suit the team a bit more- can defend that bit deeper and hit on the counter.

Scoring first will be key- if Alloa score first on Saturday then I think Alloa will win. Should be more than capable of winning this one.

Basically if we cant win on Saturday I would imagine it's pretty much all over. I'd guess we really need to get at least a point, to take it to the last day- nightmare scenario is Stirling going to Central Park in midweek needing a win to clinch the championship. That doesnt bear thinking about.

We'll all have a good drink Saturday anyway, hopefully a decent away support will make the long trip.

Assume Stevenson will come in at right back. I think Bomber will start in the middle to give us more composure there. Also think the gaffer will try and freshen things a bit by bringing in Carroll, WIlson or Gils.

If we win on Saturday, that puts Cowdenbeath out of the equation. Hope they would still be motivated for their midweek game to try to get 2nd place!

On a similar note it seems that Rory McAllister is suspended for Brechin's match against Stirling on the last day. Still these things dont change anything for Alloa, we just need to win our two games.

Hope we get a good vocal support at Peterhead to get right behind the team. We're all gutted by the last two results but the players themselves must be low after all their efforts over many months to get into a winning position then to lose two games in such a slack fashion. They owe it to themselves to win this game and at the very least take the whole thing to the final day. And who knows, if we win on Saturday and Stirling dont then the pressure is on them big time going to Central Park.

Mon the Wasps.

Good post Donald- I think most of us have come to terms with the current situation after a few days of the deepest depression

We are staring the worst case scenario in the face just now. The players have put in some amount of effort this season, so they really owe it to themselves to pick up 3 points tomorrow against a poor Peterhead side.

After that the pressure will be on Stirling whether they beat Clyde or not. They would then have to go to Central Park needing a win- no easy task in normal circumstances never mind facing that kind of pressure.

If we win our last 2 then I'll be pretty happy, regardless of the outcome.
