If they're not careful Stirling will only have a supporters team and nothing else.

Good luck with this toffee. Interesting idea, there's one or two older guys I can think of from the supporters bus who would probably be interested, and of course all the younger guys (although they may insist on playing in brightly coloured shorts?).
From the 7-0 Supporters Club team, who have been together for a number of years, most of those who play regularly play on a Sunday already, so you'd be looking at a whole new team.
In terms of the club supporting you, best idea would be to get in touch with them and outline your intentions. I'm sure they would be totally fine with giving you publicity (programme, tannoy announcements, etc) and perhaps some older stock strips maybe at a discount, this covers off most of the initial set-up costs of starting up a team, then you've just got your league fees to find, maybe a fundraising night or some other event could sort this out.
Main thing is getting enough people on board. To ensure you get enough guys for every game (especially on a Sunday), you probably need 18/20 players who are committed, and a few others who you can call on at short notice.
I play on Saturdays, like my Saturday nights in the pub (or otherwise) not needing to worry about taking it easy for a game the next day, but would definitely be up for playing in any friendlies you organise against the Stirling Supporters team!!
All the very best with it, I hope you can this off the ground.
Keep us posted. If there's anything you need, I'm sure someone on here will be able to sort you out, or at least point you in the right direction.

There is a chance that Beechwood Albion will be playing in the Forth Valley Welfare league next season. If you manage to get a team together, then e-mail me on mifthebino@msn.com
We played a Alloa supporters team last season I think it was and it was 2-2.

I think your team won MIF- was that the game at Plean? I'm sure it was 3-2 to Albion, but lets just call it a draw if thats what you think |

| Although the distance I live from Alloa would stop me from playing almost every week, I'd be very interested in getting involved in the future as next season I plan to get up a lot more often than in recent years. Email trfcneil@hotmail.co.uk also available for adds on facebook (some of you are already on my friends list). Even if unavailable for playing i'd be happy to try and get involved in any fund raising activities. |
